STREET OUTREACH
Street Intervention/Outreach refers to actively working in “the streets” to engage individuals at immediate or high risk of being victims or perpetrators of gun violence. Our Outreach staff are known as “trusted messengers” in the community. Our relationships with the community allows Outreach teams to mediate existing and potential violent incidents.
Outreach activites:
- Building trusting relationships with high-risk individuals
- Mediating existing and potential conflicts to prevent incidents of violence
- Proactively engaging individuals/groups to prevent the onset of violent conflict
- Civic Engagement
- Community Organizing
CASE MANAGEMENT
Case Managers provide ongoing connections to needed services and support. These services enable individuals to live a better quality of life.
Case Management services include:
- Support with continuing education
- Healthcare and mental health referrals
- Assistance with obtaining housing
- Substance abuse treatment referrals
- Employment assistance
VICTIM SERVICES
Our Victim Advocates provide a wide array of services to all victims of violence.
Victims Services include:
- Referrals for housing support
- Emergency food assistance
- Sharing information on legal rights
- Assistance with Illinois Crime Victim Compensation application
- Assistance with funeral and memorial arrangements
